Jennifer Love Hewitt began her career in television as a child by doing more about twenty different commercials, but her very first big break in TV came as a child actor when she appeared on a children’s variety show being aired on the Disney Channel entitled Kids Incorporated from 1989 to 1991 where she was then known only as Love Hewitt. During this time Hewitt was dancing in and sang all of the songs for a live action video called “Dance! Workout with Barbie” released through Buena Vista. In 1993, Hewitt landed in a role playing Pierce Brosnan’s daughter for the pilot episode of NBC’s Running Wilde where Brosnan played as a reporter for a car magazine which covers his own wild auto adventures. Unfortunately the series did not pick up and the series’ pilot episode never aired on television. Hewitt went on to star in several short-lived shows like Fox’s Shaky Ground from 1992 to 1993, ABC’s Byrds of Paradise in 1994 and McKenna from 1994 to 1995. From one short-lived show after the other, Hewitt finally became a young budding star when she landed a role for Fox Television’s popular show Party of Five where she played the character of Sarah Reeves from 1995 to 1999. During its second season run, Hewitt was again part of the cast and at the same time was part producer of the Party of Five spin off aptly called Time of Your Life in 1999. It was again a short-lived television series and the show was cancelled after it aired for half a season.

Hewitt dabbled into movie acting and she was credited for her first big screen appearance when she did her film debut for the independent movie Munchie in 1992, but it was in 1997 that Hewitt rose to become a big Hollywood superstar when she appeared in the suspense-thriller I Know What You Did Last Summer and such was the success of this movie that it raked $125 million in box office sales worldwide. She later appeared in the movie sequel I Still Know What You Did Last Summer in 1998 but it wasn’t as successful as the first part but it brought in more money during its opening weekend run. Other notable films under her belt included the high school comedy Can’t Hardly Wait in 1998 and a starring role in the romantic comedy Heartbreakers in 2001 with actress Sigourney Weaver.

In 2000, Hewitt appeared in the Audrey Hepburn Story and on that same year, during the height of her popularity as one of the hottest young actresses in Hollywood, she was chosen by giant mobile phone company Nokia to become the company’s spokesperson because of her fresh image and wholesome aura.  Hewitt also appeared in the music video “Hero” with Enrique Iglesias in 2001. Since 2005, Hewitt starred in the television series Ghost Whisperer, the show was so popular that in Australia, Ghost Whisperer has been a big hit ever since it was first aired on television while in the United States the show averages 9 to 11 million viewers for every new episode. Hewitt was offered to play the lead role for Romeo + Juliet but the director felt that she wasn’t fit for the role since she did wasn’t modern looking and eventually the role of Juliet was given to Claire Danes who starred opposite Leonardo DiCaprio. She was also part of the cast for the movie Brokedown Palace but the actress had to give up her role of “Darlene” due to the conflict with her busy schedule and the role landed again to Claire Danes. Hewitt also auditioned for the movie Daredevil as Ben Affleck’s co-starring heroine “Elektra” but the role was given to Jennifer Garner.
